We reconstructed a withered planting in the center of Brno
Client: Purple Technology s.r.o., Brno

When we first got to the terrace, we saw dried birches and semi-dry privets. Only the lavender and ivy were really happy, which didn't care about the broken irrigation system. It was up to us to dig the dry two-meter birches out of their boxes, dig through the dried perennials and dig up the installed irrigation system to find the place of the malfunction.
The Purple Technology terrace overlooking the center of Brno is regularly used by employees for meetings and relaxation, and to make their stay more pleasant, the presence of lush greenery is necessary. However, the original planting was on the verge of vitality due to a malfunction in the automatic irrigation system, and because the previous contractor did not arrive in time to repair it, part of the greenery dried up in the extremely hot conditions of the city center.
Repairing the irrigation was therefore the first step. It was necessary to plant most of the planting from the boxes, check the connection and functionality of the hoses. The client took advantage of the situation and moved some of the containers to another location, so it was necessary to practically create the irrigation scheme from scratch.

When planting vegetation, we immediately removed the withered plants and disposed of them ecologically in our company compost. We replanted part of the thriving planting - neither the client nor we wanted to get rid of plants that worked in containers and were already accustomed to the conditions. We planted plant species that have a great potential for rapid development and are known for their endurance (amelanchier lamarckii, parthenocissus quinquefolia, geranium macrorrhizum, verbena bonariensis, etc.).

Maintenance of this terrace does not need to be carried out more than twice a year - in spring for cutting grass, fertilizing and starting irrigation, in autumn for cutting and wintering plants and irrigation. This also means that the plants literally live their own lives during vegetation and are not limited by the gardener's hand. You can see the unorganized growth, the attachment of some plants in the terrace drain and the overgrowth of tenacious species. And the client and we like that very much!
